While the specific details like the name and release date remain undisclosed, the company has started teasing some key specifications ahead of the official debut. The hints suggest that the upcoming device will likely belong to the mid-range category, similar to the rumored Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.

Through a series of posts on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Motorola has unveiled that the upcoming smartphone will feature a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. This chipset is commonly found in mid-range smartphones, indicating that Motorola’s new device might target the same market segment.

The company has also shared an image featuring a rectangular object with a fast charging animation, hinting at potential support for rapid wired or wireless charging in Motorola’s upcoming device. The video briefly displays the rear panel with the iconic Motorola “batwing” logo embedded in a small depression. Furthermore, the video confirms the imminent launch of a Motorola Edge series phone.

Recently, Motorola announced via a press release that it would host a launch event on April 3, teasing a “fusion of art and intelligence.” While specific details about the smartphones to be unveiled remain undisclosed, the teaser echoes the same themes of intelligence and art shared on X.

As the launch event draws near, speculation suggests that Motorola may introduce the Moto Edge 50 series in India, with the teased smartphone possibly being the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion or Edge 50 Pro. Given the mid-range Snapdragon chipset hinted at by the company, the former model could debut soon, with further details anticipated in the coming days.

Moto X50 Ultra Teased, Likely to Launch Globally as Motorola Edge 50 Pro

The Moto X50 Ultra is gearing up for its official debut, with Motorola recently teasing the phone’s design. The teaser hints at a departure from previous models’ appearances. While details about the handset are currently scarce, it’s expected to hit the global market with some tweaks and a new name. Anticipated to bring upgrades over its predecessor, the Moto X40, unveiled in December 2023.

In a teaser video shared on Weibo, Motorola showcases the Moto X50 Ultra alongside Formula 1 clips, suggesting inspiration drawn from the racing event, possibly in terms of design. The company also refers to the phone as an “AI Mobile Phone” (translated from Chinese), indicating it will likely boast AI-driven features. However, Motorola has yet to confirm the launch timeline or provide further details.

The video presents the Moto X50 Ultra sporting a black faux leather finish, featuring a rectangular rear camera module in the top left corner with a glossy finish. On the right side, split volume keys and the power button are visible. More information about the model is expected to surface in the coming weeks.

According to a Sparrow News report, the Moto X50 Ultra is slated for a global launch with some modifications under the name Motorola Edge 50 Pro. It’s rumored to pack a 4,500mAh battery with support for 125W wired and 50W wireless charging. However, a GSMArena report suggests that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro might be a rebranded vanilla Moto X50 model. These speculations should be taken with caution as they’re subject to change.

The base Moto Edge 40 Pro was introduced globally with minor alterations compared to the Moto X40 model. The Moto X40 boasted a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup, a 60-megapixel selfie camera, a 6.7-inch full-HD+ curved AMOLED display, and a 4,600mAh battery with support for 125W wired fast charging. It ran on Android 13-based MyUI 5.0.
